Born in Tehran in 1978, Masy Kazemian carries the colors, rhythms, and stories of two worlds—Tehran and Seattle—between which her life and imagination continually move. A self-taught artist, she discovered her creative path through instinct, curiosity, and the quiet pull of memory. She paints much like one dreams: freely, intuitively, and beyond conventional borders.
Her work is a conversation between cultures and symbols. Influenced by the lyrical elegance of Persian motifs, the narrative richness of Indian Mithila art, and the soulful expressiveness of African folk traditions, her paintings do not simply reflect these sources—they reinterpret them, becoming deeply personal and emotionally alive.
Masy’s visual language blends tribal and universal forms—shapes that flow like water, echo ancient stories, and vibrate with bold, untamed color. Her compositions are both organic and deliberate, abstract yet anchored in memory. Through her pseudo-geometric forms, she seeks harmony, rhythm, and the unseen threads that connect us to one another and to something timeless.
For Masy, art is not a destination but a journey—a continued exploration of identity, belonging, and the poetic spaces in between.
